Botox®
BOTOX® is a simple, in-office procedure used to soften and eliminate wrinkles and lines on the face formed over time through the activation of our facial muscles. The procedure typically takes only 10 minutes, and there is no downtime or inconvenience.
At the Lincoln Aesthetic Surgical Institute, your safety and satisfaction matter most and we are proud of the uncompromising care we can offer you. Our prices are very competitive too. In fact, you only pay for the exact number of units of BOTOX® Cosmetic you actually receive – without hidden costs or confusion. Dr. Mitchell himself personally administers the injections. Injections are never done by a nurse or physician’s assistant.
Areas typically addressed with BOTOX® include the horizontal wrinkles on our forehead as well as vertical wrinkles that form between our eyebrows. Other uses include the wrinkles that form just lateral to our eyes (i.e., the Crow’s feet) as well as the bands that we sometimes develop in our neck from the platysma muscles. In addition, it also can be used to help elevate the lateral brow. Improvements are typically seen starting in a few days up to two weeks. Occasionally, a touch-up procedure is needed after two weeks to fully eliminate the wrinkles present if some muscle activity is still present. Results last for three to four months.
Don’t hesitate. If BOTOX® is something that interests you, please call our office to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell will assess you, answer all of your questions and concerns, and help you decide if BOTOX® is right for you!
About BOTOX®
BOTOX® is a simple, non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe lines for people ages 18 to 65 years. BOTOX® is made from purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those wrinkles and lines to form over time.
Side affects with BOTOX® may include localized pain, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising associated with the injection. Nausea as well as a temporary headache can occur. If administered between the brows, temporary eyelid droop may occur. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects. Patients with a prior allergic reaction to BOTOX® should not undergo these injections.
